August Stamp Club Projects

Here are two of the projects my stamp club will be making this month.
The first one is a card that I CASED from Kristin Moore at sunshinesmilesstamps.blogspot. My card is not exactly like hers but the over-all idea came from her card.

The next project is a tile we will be making using one of Stampin Ups! decor stencils, Kind Thoughts.
I cased this idea from Kimberly Van Diepen at Stampin by the Sea. I love her blog. She is a very talented crafter and one of my all-time favorites.

Scripture Challenge

Here is a page I made for Scripture Challenge 2009 on Splitcoast Stampers. I used retired designer paper in baja breeze. The other color is chocolate chip, one of my favs. When possible I scan my pages instead of taking pictures and in this scan the crystal brads on the bottom right don't look quite right. I should have taken a picture instead.
The flourish is sizzix accent #2, and the letters are basic grey I believe. They match really well with baja breeze.

July GGS Album

This is the album I made for Kathy as part of the Girls Gone Scrappy album trade. The paper is retired SU! I wish it hadn't retired because I love it!!! I made the album using the chipboard sheets that come in the back of the SU! paper packs.

I am very in to journaling lately and using mixed media on my pages. The below picture is a page out of one of my journals. First I painted the page with white gesso. Gesso keeps the paper from soaking up the paint and the permanent marker from bleeding through. Next, I painted the page with an acrylic paint called pear. I then decided my photos would need matting so I painted some mats using black acrylic paint. After gluing down my pictures (wallet size), I used a black permanent marker to add captions. Overall, I like how it turned out. It's messy but fun!!

I am participating in two challenges, but I am bad about posting my completed pages. The first two are 6x6 pages I made for the His Holy Name Challenge. Each week we are given a new word. The last picture is a canvas creation for Scripture Challenge 2009. I am actually making 3x5 cards for this challenge, but for trust I decided to use a 5x7 artist canvas. I love using canvas!!!! Click on the blinkies on the side of my page to check out both challenges!

Seeing Spots

For such a simple card, it sure has given me fits from creating it all the way to scanning it.
I wanted to create a card using one of the retiring SU! stamp sets so I used the set Seeing Spots.

This is an inexpensive sets that is very versatile. Today I used it to make
a card for my soon to be 11-year-old. I used a 6x6 piece of riding hood red
card stock folded in half to make a 3x6 card, perfect for putting money in. My
boys always enjoy money gifts!
The spots are stamped in riding hood red onto a 2x6 piece of whisper white.
Happy birthday is stamped in riding hood red onto kiwi kiss card stock. The kiwi kiss
circles at the bottom were punch with a 1/4 inch hole punch and topped with
a little crystal effects.

Next, I hope to post a scrapbook page featuring Seeing Spots. It is one of my favorite sets!

This first image was created on a 5x7 canvas. I got the idea from someone, but don't remember whom.
I first painted the edges with brown painted and then covered the top with dsp from stampin' up! All other papers are SU! also. I used my big shot to cut out the top note and then inked the edges with chocolate chip ink.

This card was made using a sketch from a challenge on Splitcoast stampers. The paper is baja breeze dsp. I stamped the image using baja breeze ink.
