Clean and Simple

Below is a clean and simple card that I made using sketch 68 at Operation Write Home.  If you've never checked out their blog before you really should.  They have a lot of fun challenges.
I made the gears on the card by using the extra-large double cog punch.  To make the gears more dimensional I glued three layers on top of each other.

On the inside, I stamped the card with gears from the Sense of Time stamp set.

Raffia Again

Here is one more project using one of the raffia flowers that I made.  This time I created a scrapbook page.  I don't know what is up with my camera.  The colors just aren't showing up very well.  Maybe it's the computers fault instead of my camera.
Anyway, I used a sketch from The Scrappiest.  It was last Monday's sketch, and I am just now getting my page posted.  I haven't been feeling well this week so I am a little behind.
These are pictures of my great-niece from last year.  I am scrapping them for my niece's in-laws who live out of state.

Here is a close-up of my raffia flower.  It is just like the last one I made except it has a different color  button.

I want to make some more of these  in different colors, but I haven't had a chance yet and may not for awhile.  I am busy preparing for my Advanced Flower Making Class that uses the blossoms petal punch.  We will be making 5 different flowers and I have 3 classes so far.  Woohoo!
I am able to do this class because the blossoms petal punch is being carried over from the occasions mini catalog.  Can I get another woohoo?  Each participate in the class recieves the punch as part of the class so that everyone will have the punch to use during class. (That is a lot of classes.)  I knew I couldn't teach it with only one punch.  If a participant already has that punch they can pick another that is the same price.
If you live in Western Arkansas in or near southern sebastian county and would like to attend one of these classes, just email me using the link in the right sidebar.

Just for You Card

Isn't this card bright and cheery?  I promise in person the colors match.  To look at the picture you would think I used three different browns, but I didn't.
Did you noticed I used one of my flowers from yesterday's post?  It looks pretty on a card doesn't it?  I think I will have to make a bunch of these all in different colors.  They take a while to make but they are fun to make.  I prefer to make my accessories when possible.  Making things from scratch is a big part of the fun.

Well, come back tomorrow or the next day and I might have a scrapbook page made that showcases my raffia flowers.  I guess I really should be showing you projects that feature items in the occasions mini since we only have a few days left to order from it, but I am in the mood to make flowers. Of course my big button on my flower came from the occasions mini so I guess this project counts.

What do you get.......

What do you get when you mix a capful of rubbing alcohol, 2 drops of melon mambo classic reinker, a drop or so of frost white shimmer paint, and raffia?

You get shimmery hot pink flowers that don't look near as good in the picture as they do in real life.  In real life they are bright and shimmery and deliciously pink.  How is that for a description?!
For the centers I used some of the big buttons you can still get in the Occasions mini catalog, but only until Saturday so don't delay in getting some.
What will I do with these flowers you say.  Well I can put them on cards, a scrapbook page or a 3D item.  The options are endless.  So come back tomorrow or the next day and I'll show you what you can do with these flowers.
Oh, and if you want to know how to make some of these for yourself go here to watch a video by SaCrafter.  She has an excellent tutorial.

More Stamp Club Easter Cards

Here are the other two cards my stamp club made this week.  This first one is old olive with pretty in pink butterflies.  This seemed to be their favorite card.  We used the elegant bouquet embossing folder and beautiful wings embosslit die.
After embossing we sponged old olive over the embossed portion of the card using circular motions.

We stamped a cross in the inside from Crosses of Hope.

The card below was cased from the big Idea Book and Catalog on page 68.  It is hard to tell from the picture, but the background is stamped in versamark with the medallion background stamp.
Up close you can also see that we placed a clear bitty button on the cross.  I thought that the heart button was appropriate.

Stamp Club Easter Cards

Below are the Easter cards that my stamp club made this month.

This first card reminds me of a daffodil or as we call them around here, an Easter flower.  To make it I use the Build a Blossom stamp set and the blossom petals punch,  both of which can be found in the Occasions Mini catalog.  You need to hurry though, because you can only order from this catalog until the 30th which is less than two weeks away.
There are all kinds of  videos on youtube about how to use this stamp set and punch.  So check them out and then hurry to my website to order before it is too late.  Or maybe you should order and then go check them out.

Tomorrow, I'll show close ups of one of the other cards.

Still Scrappin'

I am still scrapbooking!  I love using sketches when scrapping, and I got the sketch for the layout below at Let's Scrap. I used the left hand side of one of their past weekly sketches.
All the supplies used ,except for the letters, are Stampin' Up!
This is such a bright cheery layout.  I used several of the colors that are in my nieces outfit.
You just gotta love the big buttons that I used.  You can find them in the Occasions Mini catalog.  You have just over two weeks to order from that catalog so go to my website and place your order now before it is too late.

Fun at the park

Can you tell I am on a scrapbooking kick lately?  I love to scrapbook, and I am not a chronological scrapper.  I scrap whatever I am in the mood for at the time.  For example the pictures in the layout below are of my 12 year old son when he was around 2.  When he was 2, I was teaching 1st grade and had no energy leftover for scrapping.
It is hard to tell, but there is a frog on Rance's shirt in the pictures so of course I had to make a punch art frog.  I kind of like frogs anyway and have been looking for an excuse to make one.  What's better than a little boy's scrapbook page for a cute little froggie.
The designer paper I used is Woodland Walk (love it!), and the cardstock is chocolate chip.  The ribbon is retired.

Bunny Box

This project was cased from at least two different people. The bunny was cased from Francis Kukulils, and I believe she  I cased it from someone else. I
would link to her bunny but I found it on Stampin' Connection and you can only go there if you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.
I cased the box part from someone else.  I thought I had saved who I cased it from to my computer, but now I can't find it.  The person I cased made hers a Frankenstein box for Halloween.  If I find her link I will add it here.  I hate it when I lose things like that.
I should have taken a picture of the box open.  When you untie it the sides fold down so you can get to the candy easily.

Scrapbook page

Here is a scrapbook page I made using the nursery suite specialty paper.   It can be used for boy or girl scrapbook pages. I used about half or less of one of the blue die-cut sheets for this page and about a 3 inch strip of the blue/green striped sheet.  I used the stamp sets Baroque Motifs ( a very versatile set) and Define Your Life (also very versatile).
The pictures are of my 12 yo son when he was around 4 years old.  I've always said he could fall asleep anywhere.

Squirmy

Below is a scrapbook page with pictures of my great-nephew.  When I saw these pictures of him, I knew his onsie was a scrapbook page waiting to happen.
If it weren't for the worm on the page, this would be a very clean and simple page.  I didn't feel it need much more embellishment besides the worm.  I love the colors used, pacific point, real red, and bashful blue.  They go together to make such a cute boy page. I'll have to remember this combo.
I used the wide oval punch for his body except for the last one, and that is the 1 1/4" circle punch.  I tried outlining each shape with the stampin' write marker, but my lines where shaky and horrible.  So, I made dotted lines instead and they look a little better.
For his feet I punched a 1/2" circle and cut it in half.

Last Day of Celebration

Today is the last day of SALE-A-BRATION!!  To get free stamp sets while you can go to my website and click on shop now!  You get a free stamp set for every $50 of product that you order.
The card below was cased from Sandi MacIver.  I had to changed some of the colors and left off the sentiment she used because I didn't have the same supplies. And to be honest I like hers much better, but whenever I case someone I nearly always learn something.  For instance, I haven't used my blender pens nearly enough and I didn't realize how much shading and depth you could add with them.  Of course you can't tell any of that from my photos, but trust me you can shade and add depth with blender pens.
The stamp set used below is Sweet Summer, and it is perfect for using your blender pens.

Below is the inside of my card.  I always like to add a whisper white panel to write on when the card base is dark.

More Bliss

Here is one more project using the Bliss stamp set that you can only get for free during sale-a-bration, and SALE-A-BRATION IS ENDING TOMORROW, MARCH 31ST. If you want this stamp set go to my website and order $50 or more to get it for free.
When creating this card, I started out CASING a card made by Kimberly Van Diepen, but I didn't have quite the same supplies. Therefore, my card doesn't look much like hers at all. She did definitely inspire me though.

Because this card doesn't have a sentiment on the front you could use it for just about any occasion.
This card looks much better in real life. For some reason the stamped image is not showing up in the picture very well.

Sale-a-bration Bliss

Here is a scrapbook page I made for the abc scripture challenge that I am participating in. You can find details of the challenge here.
I used the colors soft suede and baja breeze, one of my favorite combos.  I used the stamp set, Bliss.  You have until the 31st to get this stamp set for free during sale-a-bration.  It is such an elegant and versitile stamp set.  Tomorrow I will show you a card I have made using this set.
You can't really tell from the photo but I spritzed the page with some vanilla shimmer smooch spritz, and it is really glimmery in real life.  I also used a few of the basic pearls for accents in a couple of places.  I used the billboard sizzlet strip to spell the word delight.  I like using the sizzlet strip because you can cut out so many letters at one time.  The journaling is written on a piece punched out with the 2 inch scallop circle punch.

Quick and Easy Stamp Club Cards

I have an up-up-line, LINDA GUTIERREZ, who is very generous about sharing ideas with her downline. The cards below are examples of quick and easy cards she has made.  She showed how you can buy approximately $50 of products and by using those products and a sale-a-bration stamp set only, you can make some really cute cards. I thought this was a good way to show my stamp club how easy it is to make a quick card that still has that wow factor.  These are just two of the examples that Linda made in this style.  She made 5 or 6 in this style all together.
The color on the first card is poppy parade.  The paper is from the hostess level 1 paper pack. The card itself is a note card that comes in a pack of twenty cards and envelopes.

I love decorating the envelope as well as the card.

The color on the next card is concord crush.  It is such an intense, rich color.  I love it. I haven't worked with the In colors a lot, and I don't know what I was waiting for.  I love them!

These are just two of the cards we will be making in my stamp club this month.  Tomorrow I will show you two more quick and easy cards that are made in a totally different style.
