A Daddy's Love

Below is a picture of my great-niece not long after she was born.  She is now 18 months or so.  Anyway, I have been meaning to scrap this picture and few others for awhile now and am finally getting them done.
I tried something different this time by placing my title down the side of my page.  I got this idea from a book titled, Embellished Emotions for Scrapbookers.

For this page I used one strip of retired dsp on the title and the soon to be retired photo corners punch.  If you want this punch be sure and order it by the 30th or it will be too late.

I used real red, basic gray, basic black, and whisper white card stock. I used the heart to heart, full heart extra large, and the eyelet border punches.

Flower Notepads

Aren't these notepads cute!?! When I saw one on LAStamper, I knew I had to make one or two.(I think it was LAStamper.  I can't find the post now.)  They are cute little note pads made with the fun flower bigz die and the blossom party die.
They are super simple to make.  I just cut out the chipboard(the backing), filler sheets and cover using the die.  I then used the crop a dile to punch a hole and strung everything on the black 1/8" taffeta ribbon.  The cover is made from the bold brights patterns dsp stack.

Easy peasy and super cute too!

Scrapbook Page Case

I am back for the third time this week with another club project.  My stamp club made this page this week, and let me tell you it has a lot of stamping on it.  This is a partial CASE from a fellow demonstrator, Sheena Ledbetter.  I found her sample on a wonderful demo only site called Stampin' Connection.
At first I thought the map across the top of the page was a piece of patterned paper that I had missed somehow, but no, it is an image that is stamped about 5 times across the page.  It was actually pretty easy to do.
I guess I should mention that the stamp set used on this page is Travel Log. Every image on it is stamped from this set.  I can't wait to use it to make a mini album/journal to take on vacation with me this summer.

The ink colors used in this set are cherry cobbler and soft suede.  The card stock colors are whisper white, soft suede, baja breeze, and cherry cobbler.

Thank you for stopping by my blog, and I would love for you to leave me a comment.

Woodland Walk Notepad Holder

Tonight at my stamp club we made this post it note holder for one of our projects.  I got the inspiration for this particular project from many different sources online.
Yes, I know the pen isn't decorated, but I didn't decide to make these until the last minute and these were the only pens that I had on hand.  I tried to decorated the inside with matching paper, but these are not the pens for that job.  So instead we just tied ribbon around them..

The best thing about this note pad holder is that it has magnets on the back so you can put it on the fridge!  I am always looking for a notepad, and now I'll know where one is at all times.

I use the Woodland Walk designer paper and early espresso cardstock and ribbon with very vanilla ribbon on the pen.
Don't forget if you want something off of the retired list to get it now.  You only have until June 30th and some of the accessories are selling out now.

Scripture Challlenge- Easy

I finally completed another page of my abc scripture challenge.  This time the word is Easy, and I used the verses, Matthew 11: 29-30.

If you like my photo corners, and don't have the photo corners extra-large punch, you had better get it while you can.  It is retiring and will no longer be available after June 30th, if they don't run out of them before then.
I love the punch. After completing this page I felt like something was missing and the photo corners are just what the it needed.
The flowers in the bottom left corner are just rolled flowers.  Cut your paper into a square and then spiral cut to the center.  Next, you roll the paper starting on the outside and rolling to the center, where you glue it down.  Let me know if you have no idea what I am talking about and I will find you a tutorial.

A Few Challenges

Well another week has gone by without me blogging but I vow to do better.  I was fussed at today for not posting as often as I used to, and that made me feel good that someone noticed and missed  my posting.
So I thought I would start off with a card I created by using a three different challenges.
First of all I used the sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches:

and came up with the clean and simple card below.
I used the medallion like stamp from the set, Day of Gratitude.

Another challenge that I used in making this card was the challenge at Just Add Ink to use the colors black and white only.
Finally the last challenge that I participated in was to make a masculine card for Crazy 4 Challenges.  I suppose this could be considered a masculine card.  It isn't covered with bling or flowers and like I said before it is clean and simple.

I really like this card even if it is made from only two colors.  Black and white always make such a striking combo.

Just Us Girls Challenge

It's about time I got back to posting.  I have just been out of it lately if you know what I mean.  I did enjoy making this card though, for the Just Us Girls Challenge for this week.

I like how different the sketch is, and I really like the colors I used if I do say so myself.  The colors are not quite navy, always artichoke, and chocolate chip, with sahara sand as the card base.

Obviously, I am still on my masculine card kick.  They are rather easy for me and fit my minimalistic style

Don't forget that you only have until the end of June to get items that are on the last chance list.  Go to my website to see what all is on th list and to place an order before it is too late.  Some of the accessories have already sold out so don't delay.

Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Operation Write Home Blog Hop.  If you are just joining us and would like to start at the beginning, please click on the link below.

Our blog hog theme is "missing you."  I don't have a stamp that says that exactly but I think "thinking of you" means the same thing so that is what I used.
I also decided to make a masculine themed card because you don't seem to see them quite as often and because I seem to be stuck on that theme lately.
I used the colors always artichoke, not quite navy and black.  I use the stamp sets, Teeny Tiny Wishes and Lovely as a Tree.  Lovely as a Tree is my favorite go-to stamp set for masculine cards.
I didn't include a picture of the inside, but I lined it with a piece of very vanilla cardstock that I stamped with another stamp from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

Clean and Simple

Below is a clean and simple card that I made using sketch 68 at Operation Write Home.  If you've never checked out their blog before you really should.  They have a lot of fun challenges.
I made the gears on the card by using the extra-large double cog punch.  To make the gears more dimensional I glued three layers on top of each other.

On the inside, I stamped the card with gears from the Sense of Time stamp set.

Raffia Again

Here is one more project using one of the raffia flowers that I made.  This time I created a scrapbook page.  I don't know what is up with my camera.  The colors just aren't showing up very well.  Maybe it's the computers fault instead of my camera.
Anyway, I used a sketch from The Scrappiest.  It was last Monday's sketch, and I am just now getting my page posted.  I haven't been feeling well this week so I am a little behind.
These are pictures of my great-niece from last year.  I am scrapping them for my niece's in-laws who live out of state.

Here is a close-up of my raffia flower.  It is just like the last one I made except it has a different color  button.

I want to make some more of these  in different colors, but I haven't had a chance yet and may not for awhile.  I am busy preparing for my Advanced Flower Making Class that uses the blossoms petal punch.  We will be making 5 different flowers and I have 3 classes so far.  Woohoo!
I am able to do this class because the blossoms petal punch is being carried over from the occasions mini catalog.  Can I get another woohoo?  Each participate in the class recieves the punch as part of the class so that everyone will have the punch to use during class. (That is a lot of classes.)  I knew I couldn't teach it with only one punch.  If a participant already has that punch they can pick another that is the same price.
If you live in Western Arkansas in or near southern sebastian county and would like to attend one of these classes, just email me using the link in the right sidebar.

Just for You Card

Isn't this card bright and cheery?  I promise in person the colors match.  To look at the picture you would think I used three different browns, but I didn't.
Did you noticed I used one of my flowers from yesterday's post?  It looks pretty on a card doesn't it?  I think I will have to make a bunch of these all in different colors.  They take a while to make but they are fun to make.  I prefer to make my accessories when possible.  Making things from scratch is a big part of the fun.

Well, come back tomorrow or the next day and I might have a scrapbook page made that showcases my raffia flowers.  I guess I really should be showing you projects that feature items in the occasions mini since we only have a few days left to order from it, but I am in the mood to make flowers. Of course my big button on my flower came from the occasions mini so I guess this project counts.

What do you get.......

What do you get when you mix a capful of rubbing alcohol, 2 drops of melon mambo classic reinker, a drop or so of frost white shimmer paint, and raffia?

You get shimmery hot pink flowers that don't look near as good in the picture as they do in real life.  In real life they are bright and shimmery and deliciously pink.  How is that for a description?!
For the centers I used some of the big buttons you can still get in the Occasions mini catalog, but only until Saturday so don't delay in getting some.
What will I do with these flowers you say.  Well I can put them on cards, a scrapbook page or a 3D item.  The options are endless.  So come back tomorrow or the next day and I'll show you what you can do with these flowers.
Oh, and if you want to know how to make some of these for yourself go here to watch a video by SaCrafter.  She has an excellent tutorial.

More Stamp Club Easter Cards

Here are the other two cards my stamp club made this week.  This first one is old olive with pretty in pink butterflies.  This seemed to be their favorite card.  We used the elegant bouquet embossing folder and beautiful wings embosslit die.
After embossing we sponged old olive over the embossed portion of the card using circular motions.

We stamped a cross in the inside from Crosses of Hope.

The card below was cased from the big Idea Book and Catalog on page 68.  It is hard to tell from the picture, but the background is stamped in versamark with the medallion background stamp.
Up close you can also see that we placed a clear bitty button on the cross.  I thought that the heart button was appropriate.

Stamp Club Easter Cards

Below are the Easter cards that my stamp club made this month.

This first card reminds me of a daffodil or as we call them around here, an Easter flower.  To make it I use the Build a Blossom stamp set and the blossom petals punch,  both of which can be found in the Occasions Mini catalog.  You need to hurry though, because you can only order from this catalog until the 30th which is less than two weeks away.
There are all kinds of  videos on youtube about how to use this stamp set and punch.  So check them out and then hurry to my website to order before it is too late.  Or maybe you should order and then go check them out.

Tomorrow, I'll show close ups of one of the other cards.
