Bible Scrapbook Page

After I complete a project and put it online I can always think I a million more things I could have added to it.  That drives me crazy.
This is the second page in this year's ABC Scripture Challenge. The first page is "anchor", and I am waiting for some designer paper that I ordered to get here before I make it.

I love making rolled roses.  I didn't want them to stick up too far, so when drawing the spiral that you use to make the roses, I drew a "tight" spiral if that makes sense.  The tighter the spiral the less height on the flower.

I used the Love Letter designer paper and riding hood red card stock.

Receipt Holder for Purse

I don't know about you, but I am forever stuffing receipts in my purse just wherever, and then later when I need a certain one, I can't find it.  So when I ran across Ann Nelson's tutorial  for a receipt folder, I knew I had to make one.
I used the dsp, Autumn Spice, that was in the Holiday Mini because besides being beautiful, it is nice and sturdy.
I didn't do anything fancy because the dsp itself is enough decoration.
I am using a small clip (sorry retired) to hold it shut.

Here is the inside:

I think I need to make one now for my coupons!

Scripture Challenge Title Page

This is my title page for this year's scripture challenge over at Triple the Scraps.  Patter has a different word and lesson every two weeks, and this year the theme is an abc album.  For example, the first two words are anchor and Bible.

For this page I used scraps for all of the paper except the basic black.  Everything else came out of my dsp scrap bin so, all of the designer paper on this  page is retired.  Just goes to show what all you can do with scraps.
I used one end of my stylus to curl up the edges of my flower.  I love flowers that have dimension.

The stamp set I used is Jayne's Type Alphabet.

I hope to have the pages for anchor and Bible posted in the next few days.

Valentine Gift

Below is a gift that I orginally saw given as a Christmas gift, but I thought it would make a great Valentine's gift also.  I got the idea and instructions from Chris Twing at For Love of Paper.  She stamped hers with snowflakes and included a carrier, but like I said I went with a Valentine theme.

It is a very easy project using disposable cups that I found at Walmart.  To give it as a gift you could fill with  supplies to make Snowman soup like I have pictured above.

Club Scrapbook Page

This is this month's scrap page for my club girls.  I am going to give them the option of changing the title if they want to.  The colors are baja breeze and pacific point.  The stamp set is Jayne's Type Alphabet.
I used the die, tasteful trim, for the scallop strip on the left of the page.  Gotta love that die for scrapbooking.  It has four different strips or trims on it.  I will be using it a lot.
You can't tell in the picture, but the first thing I did to this page was sponge whisper white all over it, to give it a snowy feel.

For the snowflake in the middle, I added a bit of bling.

Club Valentine Card

This is one of the Valentines my club will be making next week.  I used a card on page 59 of the main catalog as my initial inspiration, but decided I didn't want my card to be that small. So, I took what would have been the front of my card and put in on the front of a bigger one like so:

I used the stamp set, Sweetheart, from the IB&C, and the designer paper, Sweet Stitches, is from the Occasions Mini catalog.
It is a little hard to tell from the picture, but I have put the heart and leaves on dimensionals.

Snowman Hat Directions

I had a question on how I made the hat on the snowman in the previous post.  I tried to explain it, but it is hard without pictures. So, with my son's help as camera man I have created a short tutorial for you.
First, using the small oval punch, punch out a little less than half an oval.

Here's what is will look like.

Now punch another oval over the hole made by the first oval, like so:

Here is the result:
You need a 3/4" circle to go with your piece you just punched out.

Cut part of the circle off...

and glue the two pieces together.
I also inked the edges and here is how it looks on the snowman.
His head is 1 1/4" circle.
I hope my directions are clear and understandable.  If you have any questions just let me know.

A Note of Thanks

I have been wanting to make one of these snowmen ever since I first saw one.  My card is a combo CASE between Sharon Field's and Debbie Henderson's.  I love the work of both of them.
This card looks a little better in person.  You can see the glitter that is hard to see here.  Still I am not happy with this card.  It is missing something I think in the snow area, and my sponging is hard to see in the picture.
Oh, well, I still had fun making this little snowman, and if you haven't made one you should give it a try.

I used the 2 1/2", 1 3/4" and the 1 1/4"  circle punches to make his body.  I used the small oval and the 1 inch punch to make his hat.

Scripture Challenge 2010

I am trying to finish my 2010 Scripture Challenge.  I got a little behind.  Not crafting at all during November didn't help any.
Below is the 6x6 album I am using for the challenge.  I think it needs a ribbon around it.

This is my title page,

and this is the page I made today for the word faithful.
I used the designer paper, Greenhouse Gala and the champagne glass glitter which can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalog along with two other colors.

I think this page needs something else, but oh well.  I can't think of what at the moment.

Here is a close-up of the rolled flowers.  You just take a 4x4 piece of paper, draw a spiral on it and cut it out.  Then you just roll it up and glue it down when you get to the end.
