Stationary Holder

Isn't this stationary holder/card box extremely cute if I do say so myself.  It is made in my usual clean and simple style.  I got the idea and directions from Paula Goff.  She has some wonderful tutorials, and I am going to have to try out some more of them.
I used three colors in this project for all three pieces.  They are chocolate chip, pretty in pink and whisper white.  I am out of envelopes or you would see them pictured with the cards.  I kept the cards pretty simple.
You can probable fit 4 cards with envelopes in this holder.  It would make a great shower gift. You could also fill it with recipe cards for another idea.
I'll be making a few more cards to complete this set, and then I will have a ready made gift just waiting for the right person.  Or I could use it as blog candy.  Hmmmm.... I'll give that some thought also.

Vintage Tag

It is very hard to take a good picture of a tag that has lace on the bottom of it.  So bear with me and my pictures please.  The middle picture shows the tag propped up, and that is why you can't see the lace as well.
Not everything on this tag is Stampin' Up!, but much of it is.  I started with a piece of very vanilla cardstock that I cut into a tag shape.  I then rolled the tag with the very vintage wheel which is in the occasions mini catalog.  You have until tomorrow it get it.  I love this wheel!  It gives my tag a very vintage feel to it.  Imagine that!
The three flowers were created out of khaki cardstock which was also wheeled with the very vintage wheel.
The picture is of my great-niece when she was just a few days old.  I used Picasa to turn it into a sepia photo to make it feel vintage.
I sprayed the tag with some mist I have, and then backed the whole thing onto a piece of chipboard.  I love making tags for some reason.

Mojo Monday 136

I haven't participated in a Mojo Monday sketch in awhile.  I'm not sure why, but anyway I have today.  This week's project could either be round or square.  I chose to go with the square this time.
My card is pretty clean and simple as usual, but I did add some Smooch spritz to it.  I love that stuff.  So far I only have the vanilla, but I hope to have them all very soon.  You can start ordering it from the summer mini catalog starting Saturday.

TSSC 119 and Scripture Challenge Week 9

I have another clean and simple sketch for you.  This one comes from the Lunchtime Sketch at Techno Stamper, and I am up to week nine on the Scripture Challenge which is the word quiet.
I used the designer paper set, The Write Stuff.  It has three whole sheets of journal blocks of different shapes and sizes and three sheets of double sided paper.

Scripture Challenge and Stamping 411 Challenge 187

I've combined two challenges into one project again.  I used the sketch from Stamping 411 and the word hymn from the scripture challenge on Patter's blog.  The sketch this week is pretty clean and simple and so is my page.

Our Creative Corner Challenge and This Month's Scrapbook Page

This is my stamp club's scrapbook page for April, and it also happens to fulfill the challenge at Our Creative Corner.  I wanted to create something that has a springtime feel to it, and I got this particular idea from stampingwithroxy.  She used her flowers on a card, but I thought they would also look great on an 8x8 scrapbook page.

Clean and Simple Challenge #87

I love clean and simple sketches!  They are right up my alley.  I got a new package of kraft cardstock and I had to bust it open for this card.  Kraft is one of my favorites.  The stamp set I used was a SAB set.  The little birdcage fits just perfectly inside my scallop circle.
I also love the wide ribbon that I used. It comes in four different colors and is a really soft ribbon.  I was surprised the first time I felt it by it's softness.  It is 1 1/4 inches wide, and you get approximately 10 yards.

Smooch Spritz and Presto Patterns

The layout below was created using two products that will be available starting May 1st in the Summer Mini Catalog.  They are new designer paper, Presto Patterns, and the Smooch Spritz,  Vanilla Shimmer.
The dsp, shown below, starts out white with faint patterns on it, also in white.

Then by applying ink with a sponge the following pattern appears.  You could also reveal the pattern using a  smooch spritz, an aqua painter or a brayer and ink.
Below is a close-up of the pattern.  There are six different patterns (2 sheets each) total.
The flower looks as if it is damp with morning dew.  It started out white.  I used Melon Mambo ink and a sponge dauber to turn it pink.  I then sprayed it with only two spritzes of Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to give it the wet, glimmery look.  This stuff is awesome.  I can tell one bottle is going to go a long, long way.
I can't wait to get the other colors.

Scripture Challenge Title Page

I just realized that I have made several weeks worth of pages in my scripture challenge album, but I hadn't made a title page.  The designer paper is retired, but the blue color, baja breeze, will not longer be retired starting in July. Woohoo!!!  Baja breeze is one of my favorite colors, and I was sad when it retired last year.  The other main color, besides whisper white, is chocolate chip, which is another one of my favorites.

Perfect

This is my page for the scripture challenge and the word perfect. I used the Monday Mojo sketch.  It was quite hard to fit the rectangular sketch into a square scrapbook page, but I think I did it.

Christians aren't  perfect.  Each day we must ask for forgiveness and start over again, but we are to strive toward perfection.  We must strive to be Christ-like.  And we do it for Him and what He has done for us.

I used the dsp Bella Bleu for the background page.  The cardstock colors are not quite navy, kraft, and soft suede.

Dusty Durango

This card features a color I really like but haven't used for some reason in a long time.  It's dusty durango and it is one of Stampin' Up!s In Colors.  The grayish looking stuff on the flower is glitter.  I have no idea why it looks gray. (I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I spilt the glitter and swept it back up?  lol)
The other main color is night of navy.  I like rich, intense colors.
The flowers were made using the 1 1/4 circle punch and are really easy to make.  I may be addicted since this is my second post in a row featuring them.
I made this card for the challenge at Cute Card Thursday.  They wanted cards with texture.  I think I have accomplished that with my flowers.

Two more challenges and a minature flower

I used two more challenges for this card.  I got the sketch from Stamping 411, and the colors from the challenge at Just Us Girls.  It is a lot of fun trying to combine two or more challenges into one project.
I call the flower on this card a minature, because I made it from the 1 1/4 inch circle punch.  I think this size would look could on a scrapbook page gathered around a larger flower.

Baby Girl and Two Challenges

This week I combined two challenges into one.  The first is a sketch challenge from Crazy for Challenges,  and the second is a challenge from Our Creative Corner.  You could create whatever kind of project you wanted as long as you use at least one butterfly somewhere on it.
The designer paper I used is retired, but I am running low on "girl" paper and I thought this piece was just perfect for a girl page.  The beautiful baby girl in the picture is my sweet, adorable great-niece.  I just love her!
The cardstock used in the page are whisper white, kiwi kiss (retired), cameo coral, and rose red.

I am super excited about the color changes that will be taking placing with Stampin' Up! coming July 1st.  It's like SU! read my mind on my favorite colors.  Some colors are retiring.  Some old In Colors are coming back!  Woohoo!  Did I say I am excited yet?!
Check out the new color collections below:

And here are the colors that will be retiring and no longer available starting July 1st:

Be sure and check out what is retiring.  Now is the time to be stocking up on your favorites before they are gone.

Neighbor

This is a 6x6 scrapbook page that I made for the scripture challenge at Triple the Scraps.  I used the sketch for this week's challenge at Just Us Girls.
Besides white, the two main colors are bermuda bay and melon mambo.  Melon mambo is hot pink, but I think it came out a little reddish looking in my picture.
I used the stamp set, Eastern Blooms again.  I am really liking this stamp set and wonder why I didn't buy it sooner.  I'll  probably use it again this week so consider yourself forwarned.  Maybe I'll  use it on a 3D item next.  Hmmm, I think I know what I'll do. Well anyway,

This Week's Stamping 411 Entry

This is my entry for Stamping 411 #146.  I used the stamp set, Eastern Blooms.  I got my color inspiration from the designer paper, Thoroughly Modern.  It uses rose red, bermuda bay, soft suede, and sahara sand.  I used all the colores except sahara sand.  I used white instead.

Better Tag

Here is another tag that I made that I like much better than the last one, and you can even see some of the shimmer in this picture.
I know the background color looks very similar to the last tag, but it isn't the same.  This one is colored in kiwi kiss and the last one was sponged with old olive.
This tag is also quite a bit larger than the other one.
I used left-over buttons in riding hood red, and the red butterflies are riding hood red also.  Riding hood red is COMING BACK!!!  Have you heard?  Starting in July several of the retired In Colors will be coming back as basic core colors.  Wahoo!!  I am soooo excited!
I'll try to find the document that shows the new colors coming and post it here.
Back to my tag.  I used one of Stampin' Ups! large eyelets at the top of the tag.  I cut my ribbon in a diagonal so I could slide it through.  I roughed up the ends of my ribbon to give it a rustic look.
The sentiment is from the stamp set, Vintage Vogue, one of my all time favorite sets.
I seem to be addicted to tag making so be expecting to see more.  Remember you can add them to scrapbook pages, give them as cards, or attach them to a gift just to name a few.

Vintage Tag

This is a tag I have made for a swap I am participating in at Life on the {Scrap} Beach.  It is actually a swap for mini album kit, but we are to include a hand made tag.
I started with a piece of very vanilla cardstock cut to 2 3/4 x 5 (I think).  I cut the corners off one end and then embossed an image from Friends 24/7, twice, with clear embossing powder. Next I used a sponge to sponge old olive ink on the front and back of the tag.
The flower and the paper designer paper under the button are from the dsp, Cottage Wall, whose main color is rich razzleberry.
Lastly, I sprayed the tag with a shimmer spray made by mixing rubbing alcohol with the Champagne Mist glimmer paint.  I wish the shimmer showed up in the picture because it really adds a lot to the tag.

Follow

I am still trying to get caught up on my scripture words study.  I think I am just one word behind now, but I could be wrong.
For this page I layered dsp from the occasions mini over cardstock. The bird image is from the stamp set Friends 24/7, which is one of my favorite sets.

On  a different note, on my last blog post I used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  It was in the Occasions mini but is still available.  You can find it here.

Anniversary Card

I can't believe my niece's wedding anniversay is coming up in a few days.  It doesn't seem like an entire year has passed already. Below is a card I made them for the anniversary.

I followed this week's Stamping 411 sketch, mostly.  I flipped it this time.
The colors in this sketch are not quite navy, khaki and  chocolate chip.
The chocolate chip circle in the heart is the center of a sweet pea felt flower that I pulled off.  The flower is pink and I didn't want any pink on this card.
The khaki card face is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I love how it gives the plain cardstock a little something extra.
Over all this card is pretty clean and simple which seems to be my style.  I am trying to break out of it but so far it just isn't happening.
