Splitcoast Stamper's Challenge

Here is a card I made for the Wednesday card sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  I used the Write Stuff specialty paper and the stamp set, Thankful Thinking.
I like the nice rich colors in the Write Stuff paper and look forward to using it more.  Oh, and I got the stamp set free because of Sale-a-bration.  Can't beat free.

Hand-Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge

I decided to try a sketch challenge from a new (to me) blog called Hand Stamped Sentiments.(Try to say that fast 5 times in a row.)
I used the Sweet Pea designer series paper pad again.  I love that pack of papers.  It has such a variety in it an each page is double sided of course!
I also used the stamp set, Hello Again.  It can be found in the main catalog on page114, item # 113780.  It is one of the stamp sets you can get for free during Stampin' Up!'s sale-a-bration that is going on right now.  Don't miss out on your opportunity to win free merchandise.  You can click here and order straight from my website.

Stamping 411 Challenge

Here is my card for this week's Stamping 411 challenge, and I made it using at least two free items.  What are they and how did I get them for free you ask.  Well, I got the stamp set free for buying $50 worth of merchandise.  It is the Forest Friends stamp set and is one of the sets in the main catalog that you can get for free during SAB.
The other free item I used is the pink paper.  It comes in a pack and is a level 2 (I think) hostess gift.  That  is Stampin' Up! for you, always thinking up ways to give you free merchandise.

I don't know about you, but on my computer my basic grey cardstock looks nearly black and the pink cardstock looks like two completely different colors from the first picture to the second.  I don't know if it is my picture taking skills or my photo editing skills that are lacking.  Oh, well.

Dollar Store Finds Before and After

I found a matching card set and notebook at the one dollar store, and thought I would try and alter them.  I saw someone else do this on her blog and thought it was a really good idea.  I would give credit for the idea, but I can't remember who it is.
The first picture shows how one of the cards and the notepad looked before I altered them.
On both projects, for the ribbon I layered a light blue ribbon I had over a soft suede ribbon.
On the card I added three cardstock buttons that I made using 2stampis2b's tutorial.  You can find it on youtube.
Besides adding ribbon to both the card and notepad  I used a regular sized hole punch to punch out soft suede circles, which I then placed in the center of each flower.
I also decorated the envelope.
After altering all the cards in the set this would make a cute gift.

Happy Birthday

This is a simple but sweet card I made for my step-dad for his birthday.  He can repair or build anything so I used the stamp set, Totally Tool.  It is hard to tell from the pictures but I cut out each of the tools after I colored them using the stamping pastels and a blender pen.
The stamp set I used for happy birthday is one you can get for free during sale-a-bration called Whimsical Words.

Favorite Hymn

I created this page in response to an assignment given  in my yahoo group, FaithBasedPages.  One of the assignments for last week was to make a layout about our favorite hymn or Christian song.  This has always been one of my favorite songs through the years.
Now I can't help but think of my grandmother when I hear it because it was played twice at her funeral, once at the church and then again on bagpipes at the cementary.  Her first name was also Grace.
I used kraft and not quite navy cardstock and the designer paper, Bella Bleu.  I used the flower layers die for the flowers on my page.

Mojo Monday 126

This is the card I made for the Monday Mojo sketch.  I didn't use quite as many layers as the sketch did.  The piece of designer paper I used is from a retired pack.   I used the colors old olive and cameo coral, and the stamp set Vintage Vogue.  I really love this stamp set.

Stamping 411 challenge 138

This is my card for this week's challenge at Stamping 411.  I didn't do anything fancy, but I do like my color choices.  I am trying to stay away from pastels for two reasons.  One, I'm not really a fan of pastels, and two, they don't show up as well online.
I used the Sweet Pea designer paper pack again.  I love that pack.  It is so verstile.

Paper Craft Planet 3D Challenge

This week's 3D challenge at Paper Craft Planet was called, "Make It to Go."  We were to make a take-out food box and fortune cookies.  I didn't make any cookies, but here is my take out box.  I got the template for it from Mirkwood Designs and blew it up 133%.  Once you  cut out the pattern it is very easy to put together.
I used designer dp from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  The paper is Christmas paper, but here I used it to make a Valentine item.  You could fill it with candy or some other small treat.

Abide Scrapbook Page

This is a scrapbook page I made for a scripture challenge.  The word for the week was Abide.
I used the stamp set Vintage Vogue, which I love, love, love!  I'll be using it a lot.  I used the rock and roll technique with the largest flowers.  They are perfect for that technique.

Stamping 411-- Feb.6th

Here is my card for this week's challenge at Stamping 411.  This is another one of my favorite color combinations.  It is bermuda bay, very  vanilla, and choc. chip.  I didn't put a sentiment on the outside of this card because I didn't think I could fit one on without making it look crowded.
I love the Vintage Vogue stamp set, which is what I used.  I put the large eyelets in the center of each flower.  Oh, and I used the rock and roll technique on the flowers.  I started with bermuda bay and then rolled choc. chip onto the outside edges.  I really like how it turned out.

Mojo Monday

This is one of those cards you have to see in real life to fully appreciate. It has texture that you can't really see online. The tempting turquoise background paper has been run through the crimper and therefore is full of texture. I love texture on my projects and in my food! lol
Tempting turquoise and real red are one of my favorite color combinations right now. They just look so cheery and happy together.
I got this sketch from the Mojo Monday blog. It was a challenging sketch for me at first but I finally pulled it together.
