Island Oasis Again.... And a Couple of Challenges

Can you tell I like the dsp, Island Oasis?  Every piece of pattern paper on this layout is from that designer paper.  It is just so cheery and very versitile.
Today I decided to use it for the layout for this week's scripture challenge on the word purpose.  I used the sketch from this week's sketch challenge at Creative Scrappers.
Come back tomorrow.  I am sure I will have something else showcasing Island Oasis, again.  Click here to get your own pack of Island Oasis paper.

Not Just Clean and Simple...

Yes, this card is clean and simple, but it is also quick and easy, rich and vibrant, and full of color and texture.  The only stamping is the sentiment, but you don't need a lot of stamping when using designer paper with all this rich color.  I am not much of a pastel person.  I like rich, saturated colors. . . and besides that they usually show up better online.
The sketch for this card came from this week's challenge at Stamping 411.

Clean and Simple

Here is my take on this week's challenge at Clean and Simple Stamping.  I used a piece of the Island Oasis designer paper, and I am lovin' it!  I love the colors in this paper pack.  I also love that the paper is two sided.  One side has island theme designs and the other side has any theme designs.  Therefore, even if you don't think you will have much use for island theme paper, you can always use the other side which is what I did here.

2 Challenges

I created this card using the Mojo Monday sketch.  It has a lot more layers on it than I would usually use, and that is good.  I tend to be a miminalist, and it is good that I  have to step out and do something different.
I also made this card in response to this week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. Be sure and check them out.

Template Challenge

The challenge at Just Us Girls this week is to use a template.  I found the template for this cute little box on Paper Craft Planet in the 3D section for April.  It was really easy to make.  I printed out the template on the back of  the designer paper and then cut it out.  Next, I scored all the dotted lines and glued it together.
The flower is from the pretties kit and was white before I used a dauber and mellow moss ink to change it's color.  I love these flowers.

Stamping 411 #152

Here is my take on this week's sketch at Stamping 411.  You should go check them out.  It is their anniversary and they are having major blog candies (prize give-aways).  And yes, I meant candies as in more than one. Whoo hoo!  Visit their site for the details.
Since Father's Day is coming up I decided to do another masculine card.  Since the sentiment is not on the front it could be for Father's Day, a birthday, anniversary or whatever.
I used the colors always artichoke, more mustard, chocolate chip, close to cocoa, and more mustard.

Stamp Club Projects

Here are two of the projects my stamp club will be making tomorrow.  The card is a CASE out of the Idea Book and Catalog p. 110.  I didn't copy it exactly, but pretty close.  It looks really stunning in person.  The layer of the tree on top gives it such depth.  To stamp the background trees, after inking the stamp, I stamped off onto a scrap piece of paper, and then stamped my cardstock.
The cardstock colors are chocolate chip, more mustard, mellow moss, and very vanilla.
Ribbon: Mellow Moss Taffeta (retiring color)
Stamps: Lovely As a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Markers: Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke

Below is the 8x8 scrapbook page we will be making.
I used the stamp set, Elements of Style, which is in the Summer Mini Catalog.  Love this set!!!
Cardstock colors: khaki (name is changing to Crumb Cake), close to coca (retiring), ruby red (retiring), and old olive.
Designer paper: Patterns designer series paper in chocolate chip
accessories: silver brads

Graduation Gift Card Holder

The inspiration for this card came from dawn5377(Dawn Griffith) on youtube.  I just changed the colors and made mine a graduation card instead of a birthday card.  I used the classic stars jumbo wheel.  I used basic black  and whisper white cardstock, and then I used real red cs because that is our local school color.
This is one of the projects my club will be making this week.

I really had a lot of fun with the sketch.  The sketch is this week's challenge at Mojo Monday. The color inspiration came from Just Us Girls' challenge for the week.  They chose to have  a red/white/blue challenge (khaki-optional) because Memorial Day is coming up.  I used real red, whisper white, night of navy and khaki.

Clean and Simple

Here is a very clean and simple card I made using this week's sketch at Stamping 411.  You can't tell from the picture but the top note die is popped up on pop-dots.
I used the colors night of navy and khaki.  I love those colors together.
This would make a good Father's Day card.

Creative Scrapper's Challenge #103

Scrapbooking is one of my favorite past times.  I like to do more than just show a picture or two when I creat a page.  I like to tell the story behind the picture whenever possible.  This layout shows and tells about the love between our dog, Baby Girl, and my youngest son, Rance.  Rance loves to play with her, wrestle with her and make her growl Jingle Bells. ( Yes, she can growl Jingle Bells with his help.)
Sometimes he just out and out drives her crazy, but no matter what, when bedtime rolls around she crawls into bed with him.  They truly do love each other, and that is a story I want to remember.
For my sketch I used sketch # 103 at Creative Scrappers.  They have a great blog, and they give away a prize package every month.  Go check them out.

3D 30 Minute Challenge

This is a coaster picture holder that I cased from K. Rebecca Oehlers for the 3D 30 Minute Challenge hosted by the StampaHolics Design Team.  It is made from two coasters and two clothes pins and is super fast and easy.  I thought it would make a great teacher's appreciation gift.

One Card, Four Challenges- Woohoo!

First of all, I must say that the sentiment on this card shows up much better in real life.  Second, I combined 4 challenges to make this card!  Woohoo!  That's a record for me!
The first was a color challenge from Pals Paper ArtsPaper Take Weekly had a shiny, sparkly challenge.  Notice how well the vanilla smooch spritz shows up in the photo. The challenge at Cute Card Thursday was to make  a card for someone special (I plan on sending this to my grandmother).  Last, but not least, the sketch for my challenge came from Splitcoast Stampers.  There you have it, four challenges all wrapped up into one simple card.

Pocket Card- Just Us Girls 32

The challenge this week at Just Us Girls was to make a pocket card.  I took the easy way out and made my pocket out of an ennvelope.  I sealed an envelope and then cut off a tiny strip at the top to make the opening for my card.  I took the easy way with my card also by using a piece of designer paper that I didn't have to stamp on.
The flower is cut from burlap using the smallest flower on the flower folds die.  To make the  burlap stiff I first coated it with Modge Podge and let it dry before cutting it out.  That was a tip I learned from youtube, and it works great!

Mother's Day Card Revisited

Here is a card I made several weeks ago except it didn't have the flower on it.  I felt it needed something else  and this flower  was it.  I love how it turned out.  I used the flower layers #2 die.  I think I'll be making more of these.  They are really fun to make.  Who knows maybe I'll make my first tutorial.  I got the idea from several different youtube videos.  I mixed and matched their ideas to come up with something a little different.  I got the biggest part of my ideas from jadedstudios on youtube.

Stamping 411 Mother's Day Card

These really are two pictures of the same card.  The color certainly came out different though.  I hate it when that happens.
The sketch is from Stamping 411.  The colors are cameo coral, kiwi kiss and old olive.
Don't forget tomorrow is Mother's Day and thanks for stopping by,

2 challenges in one

I combined two challenges to make this card.  First of all, I got my sketch from the Mojo Monday sketch 137.  I really enjoyed this sketch.
The 2nd challenge comes from The Shabby Tea Room.  The challenge was to use lots of glitter.  Well, I used glitter around the sentiment, grateful, but it is hard to see in the picture.  To give an all over appearance similiar to glitter I spritz the entire card with smooch vanilla spritz.  You gotta love that stuff.
Most of the designer paper is from Bella Bleu.
