Robot Valentine

I saw a card with a robot on it in February's Scrapbooks Ect. and decided to give it a try.  The hardest part was gluing on his eyes.  I tend to get glue everywhere.

His head was made from a 3/4" square punch (non-stampin' up!) His hands were made by punching a  circle with a regular hole punch and then punching around that with a 1/2" circle punch.  I then cut those circles in half to make his hands.  His legs was made by cutting a 3/4 inch circle in half.  The robot's arms and legs were crimped in the crimper and his body is a Hershey's nugget that I wrapped in designer paper. 
The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Vintage Valentine

This card was quick and easy to make and can be made almost entirely from scraps.  I call it a vintage Valentine because the designer paper that I used (Love Letter117162)  is of the vintage style.  To add to that I used the tea stain distress ink on the edges of the card itself and the scallop circle.
To cut a slit for the ribbon to slide through, I used the cutting tool from the cutter kit ( 106958) on page 199 of the main catalog. It was easy peasy.
The heart was easily punched from the new glimmer paper that is in the Occasions Mini catalog that goes live January 4th.

Scrapbook Challenge

The yahoo group Stamping Scrapbookers has a challenge going on right now until the 1st.  The challenge is to make a layout of any size with a santa on it so here is my sample.  For the santa I followed the directions of Heather Hampton Freeman.  She first created this santa in 2008 I believe, and  has since then made a tutorial with a template to follow.

Masculine Birthday Card

The card below looks like a clean and simple card, and in a way it is.  But it is so much more than that also.
I cased the design from Dawn Block (as best as I could figure out) on Stampin' Connection.
The cover is clean and simple, but the opening is not.

The white strip on the front is a piece of velcro I used to keep the card closed.  With the double fold it doesn't want to lie flat without something to keep it closed.

Inside of the card:

The colors in my photos did not turn out consistent for some reason, but they are night of navy, soft suede, and river rock.
I made this card with the intention of using it in an up-coming Birthday Card Stamp-A-Stack, but am not sure if I will use it or not.  I have time to decide still.

3-D Snowman card

Just because Christmas is over doesn't mean we can't still have snowmen.  In fact according to the news the east coast area is getting a lot of snow right now.
I mostly cased this card from Terri Tosh on Stampin' Connection with a few twists of my own of course.
It is hard to tell in the picture, but the snow on the bottom of the card has glitter on it, and I am thinking maybe I should put some on the snowman himself.

To make the 3D portion of the card I punched 5 circles with the 1 1/2" punch.  I then folded them in half and glued them together, back to back.
I used the stamp set, Teeny Tiny Wishes, for the sentiment.

It sure is good to be back to creating again.  With the difficult time I was going through during November and then the business of Christmas, I haven't had much time to create.
I really like snowmen so expect to see more of them.

Merry Christmas

Christmas Gifts

Here are some Christmas gifts I made this year.   I made sets of four coasters and a trivet and tied them up with retired riding hood red striped ribbon.

I forgot to take a picture of the coasters in the above picture, but I used the same stamp that I used on the trivet below.

Here you can see the 3/4" self-stick felt pads that I put on the bottom of the trivets.  I bought them in a pack of 20 in the hardware department at Walmart. 
On the bottom of the coasters I put square pieces of felt that I cut from a full sheet on all four corners.

Here are the other three designs that I used on other coaster sets.  Two of them are stamps and one is a stencil.  One of the stamp sets is from Baroque Motifs (113490) and the other is from Elements of Style (1186111).  The stencil is from Elegant Trio Décor Stencils (118262).

The tiles are tumbled tiles that I got at Lowes.  I already had the stamps and stencils, so each gift set cost less than $3 each.

Mr. Penguin

I don't think I have ever made a penguin card with a penguin of this size so I made one for my son who likes penguins. I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but this card is actually a gift card holder. My oldest just wants gift cards for Christmas this year. That's a teenager for you.  He would croak if he knew I was telling that he likes cute little penguins. LOL!


I cased this card from Lynn Pratt.  It is something she made last year.  I love her blog!!

Christmas Tree Mini Album

I was browsing through the gallery at Splitcoast Stampers when I ran across this mini album.  Through her link I found out how to make this Christmas tree album.  It is made with one piece of cardstock cut into a circle.

It is pretty small so I didn't put a lot of embelleshments on the pages.  Just a few at the bottom of the pages.
I used a retired Stampin' Up! Christmas designer paper because like I said before I don't have any current  Christmas dsp.

These are the two inserts I made in the shape of Christmas trees.  I didn't add any embellishments to them so they wouldn't be too bulky .

An Angel

This is not the best picture of this angel.  It does look better in real life.  It is hard to see the glitter on the wings in the picture.  I found how to make this angel from Valita's Designs and Fresh Folds .  She has a great video tutorial.
I should have run the background through the big shot in a texture folder, but I was too lazy.  I just wanted to get the angel made.  I messed up a bunch and had to start over, but I think next time I make her, it will be a lot easier.

She is supposed to be on clouds but you really can't see the sponging I did on them.  Like I said I was in a hurry.  I'll have to make another angel card.  She is just perfect for Christmas.

More Addi

Yes, I have more scrapbook pages of Addi, but like I said earlier I am scrapping pictures of her for other people besides myself.


If you notice on the bottom of the first page I used some of Stampin' Up!'s fabric in place of ribbon. Too get it in strips make a small cut with scissors and then pull. Pulling it apart gives the fabric nice rough edges.

 On the next page I used the Autumn Spice designer paper and some of Stampin' Up!s big designer buttons.

The designer paper is thick, similiar to cardstock and the buttons are HUGE!  They come in three designs and I believe I use the some of the largest ones.

Christmas Notebook

I finally created something besides a scrapbook page of my niece! (Don't worry there are more of those to come.)  I have seen these dollar store notebooks all over the place, but I got my final inspiration from Kerry at Kerry's Paper Crafts. 
I used retired dsp because "gasp" I don't have any current Christmas  designer paper!  I know, I know!  What is wrong with me?!  The Rudolph is from the stamp set Sparkly and Bright.  I am not sure which set the sentiment is from because it wasn't put back into the right case. The ribbon I used isVictoria 5/8 crochet trim. I love it!



Since I made a cute little notebook, of course I had to make a matching pen!  It is super easy to do.

100% Cute

I hope you are not getting tired of looking at pictures of Addi because I just spent the day in Alma at an all day crop and have several pages to show you.  On the page below I used the designer paper, Play Date.  The only thing not Stampin' Up! on this page are the crystal-like gems in the center of the flowers.

Baby Girl

Yes, I am still scrapping pictures of Addi.  I am making some for myself to keep, some for her mother to keep, and some for her mother to give as Christmas presents to her in-laws.  So expect to see a lot of Addi.  These pictures were taken earlier this year when she was only 5 months old.  She is now 1 year old with blonde hair!  Isn't funny how much babies change in a years time?
For this page I again used real red cardstock.  I used the designer paper, Celebrations and the quick Accents, also named Celebrations.

Here is a close-up of the fan fold flower that I made.  The rhinestone thingy in the middle is not Stampin' Up!, but everything els is.

Angel Face

I am still at the scrapbooking and so thankful that I feel like it.  This time I scrapped pictures of Addi when she was only 5 months old.  I love how her eyes shine when she smiles.  I used real red cardstock and the Love Letter designer paper.

Everything on this page is from Stampin' Up! except for the flower.  If you look closely however,  you'll see that I put the flower together with an antique brad.  If you haven't gotten any of the antique brads yet,  you really need to (#117273).  They are awesome.

Too Cute

As I mentioned before, here is another scrapbook page featuring my niece, Addi. Please ignore the glare on the middle picture.

I used the designer paper, Autumn Spice, and the stamp sets, Day of Gratitude and Elements of Style. I stamped the medallion in old olive and cajun craze using the rock and roll technique, and put an antique brad in the middle.

Happy Baby!

It has been a long time since I posted.  I have been going through some difficult times the last two weeks, but things are getting better.  I have really missed crafting.  Keep me in your prayers.  I have fibromylagia  and chronic fatigue syndrome and sometimes these conditions try to get the better of me along with depression and anxiety,  BUT I can do all things in Christ, and I will get through this difficult time.
Below is a scrapbook page I made awhile back of my great niece.  Just looking at her picture makes me happy.  I took her to the park one day and got a lot of really cute pictures so expect to see more of them.  She was so happy and funny that day.  We had a great afternoon!

Blog Candy Winner and a Teeny, Tiny Tutorial

The winner of the mini album that I showcased during the blog hop is Marisol Gutierrez! Marisol email me your mailing address, and I will get the album in the mail to you ASAP.
I promised to show you how I changed my whisper white satin ribbon to a pacific point ribbon. It is very easy. All you need is an ink pad, a sponge and the ribbon you want to dye. Place the ribbon on the ink pad and hold it down with the sponge in one hand while pulling the ribbon through with the other. Dye both sides of the ribbon this way, BUTonce you have it the color you want it let it dry before attaching it to your project. It may not feel wet, but it is. I found out the hard way. I attached my ribbon to my card as soon as I colored it and by the next morning it had bled into my card. So let your ribbon dry before attaching it to anything.
